How do I supply Carrier with Missile Components?
I bought my first Carrier. I also have a station creating Missile Components. I want to shift my fighter fleet to using missiles and torpedoes instead of guns. But I don't see any option for having my trader ships supplying my Carrier with missile components. How do I make sure my Carrier can provide missiles and torpedoes for my fighters?

I gave up on the idea of trying that..... like no matter what you are going to have to resupply... and what if the station you buy off of is out of components to make the stuff....

I use this mod that just replenishes missles/torpedos every 60 seconds.... kind of a cheat.. but you still need to buy the initial missles/ torpedos..... it costs alot for battlestars and I equip my Battleships with 20 of those or more for 2 million ish credits. alot of dough....

To keep from resupplying constantly I just use this mod.. requires an extension mod I think...

Only other option is to build a shipyard/Wharf.....use a NPC one and refitt missles of every fighter there.... Very tedious I believe.... realistic as in supply lines but.....

You could use the "closed loop" method for your carrier, so that instead of building missiles using missile components, they are built using hull parts instead.

Have your carrier in a fleet with an aux.
Not played for a while, but the aux supplies the fleet. If the Carrier is in the fleet it should get resupplied.
Might need to do get supplies on carrier if it exists.

The closed loop advice is good.
Not sure if closed loop will do all missiles.
You could have two aux - one closed loop, one normal.

Having several aux, mean you can move one back to civilisation to resupply faster if needed.
Edit - also check the notes - they have fixed something about carrier resupply in beta 5.

I'm not familiar with this closed loop process. How does it work? And how do I choose what missile components are made of?

Closed Loop works with all missiles (even Split missiles), and everything except torpedoes only needs ecells to resupply them.
You choose which method to use in the ships individual behavior tab.

As for how to do it reliably set a transport ship on repeat orders to buy ecells wherever and sell them in the sector your supply ship is at, limited to sell to your faction only. Optionally you can include a fly & wait command between those as a "waypoint" to wait at.

Supply ships post buy orders for materials like a station, so the trader will go buy ecells wherever you tell it to and fly to the waypoint. Once the supply ship posts a buy order for ecells it'll make its way there and sell them to it, then fly back to restock and return to its waypoint.

You have to manually switch the sector to sell in if you move your supply ship which is a little annoying, but otherwise it works like a charm.
