How can I buy energy cells?
I want to buy energy cells to help my base construction that has been idle for 3 hours as nobody wants to deliver. So I bought a transporter and I still cannot buy from the Station screen, all are greyed out. Any advice would be appreciated.

Which ship did you buy? Does it have container storage? How much space does it have free? How many ecells is the factory selling?

Use the trade filter to find stations that sell a specific ware such as energy cells. I think there is an in game tutorial how to use the trade filter.

Go to map window, press "Trade" window, in search bar type "Energy Cells". That'll show all stations that have them, accordig to the data you have.

I purchased the Baldric transporter. It's brand new and no cargo in it yet. I am trying to buy from a shipyard and it has 24k energy cells but all trades from it are greyed out. Will try other platforms to see.

Ok after using the filter it seems like nobody is selling, just buying. Guess that's why nobody is delivering either.

Energy Cells are produced by power/solar stations. You'll probably need to explore for a bit.

Terran economy kinda sucks since the sol system only has good spots for powerplants on the innermost sectors (really just mercury - why settle for venus when you can have 3 times as much one sector over) but all the resources are in the outer system beyond Mars.

That's a decent way to make money while also helping the economy, though. A simple powerplant in mercury is a fairly cheap investment that will help the terran economy a lot by providing much needed energy and it earns you money with practically no effort. Win-win.

Are you updating trade info? When station icons go darker on the map you won't see trades from them until you send a ship near them again.

Thanks for the tips, what is needed for a good energy cell producing station? I am in the Sagaris sector and there is over 200% here, havn't seen any energy cell stations.

Ah yes, the segaris pioneers have it easier than the actual terrans, they have good resources and good sunlight in 2 of their systems.

Depending on the start you picked, you may already have the required blueprints for a powerplant.

You need a dock (for example the terran 10s4m dock), a container storage and 1 or more solar panels. That's all, really.
You can also add a pier (for large freighters), but that will be somewhat expensive (maybe add it later)

Segaris has plenty of sun and is a good enough sector for energy stations. Though energy cell trade is not incredibly lucrative.

Basically, their sectors are decent if you want to build a terran tech superfactory. You may still need to import ecells to build the thing, but if in a pinch you can haul them from elsewhere in a galaxy, including commonwealth space (argon/teradi/paranid).

Minimum station is 1 solar panel, 1 small container storage and 1 M dock.

Super helpful thank you!

Really useful thank you. I have waited 4 hours for my station in oort to be built waiting for energy cells so I think I need to take matters into my own hands as I want to expand more into Segaris & Sol and seems Energy Cells are a bottleneck

You want to build one? Its simple. You just need a dock, a container storage and of course solar panels. Thats it. Its super simple.
