how do i use the teuta?
tried to salvage with it but i read online it needs building drones so i get those, and it doesn't work then it says i can't do it in person while piloting the ship only the ai can do it, so i get on another ship and try to order it to autosalvage and no option for it BUT there is an option to build construction jobs with it.

eventually i just right click the wreck of the xenon K i killed and order it to dismantle it... and the ship just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sits there not doing anything.

Assign the pilot to autosalvage and set an anchor space. It will then search out L and XL wrecks to dismantle with it's builder drones. If no suitable wrecks are in it's jump range then it will idle until one becomes available.

If you still run into problems there could be an issue with global orders or hazardous regions. (I'm still trying to find out how to find hazardous region option so that any rules I have set up will allow the activity in hazardous region)

Auto Salvage is in the dropdown menu of the assign task tab. I use the information tab on the right sidebar to open the tabs menu for the Tueta after I click on it. Then you go down to orders and open up the list of orders and auto salvage is about halfway down the list. You click on that then you will assign the sector and range of operation. Pilot skill (morale plays a huge part in this) will govern the range that you can operate the Tueta. So you want a level three pilot at least. I suggest you put a fair amount of service crew on them because engineering morale and some management skills go up pretty fast on Tuetas.

That option is called "sector containing dangerous region" just uptick the selection in the Blacklist orders. but keep in mind that most ship will also need to be modded with a
exceptional ship nanoweave to remove the hazardous damage (-100%) and they will ignore Avarice solar eruption or the asteroid corrosive in the Void. But give that global order only to the ships you want to go there and are protected.

i see the option for auto salvage but it's greyed out and can't be selected

oh needs pilot rank 2
I like to assign them to scrap stations in the same group as the Manticore tugs. I wanna say that it makes them scrap within range of the station, but I haven't verified that. What I can tell you is they start scrapping without needing to find a new pilot.

I must be blind because I just cannot find the option. What am I missing here? Is it not on these pages? Is it somewhere else or am I just blind as a bat? :(

I did that too but I did an experiment and I found out I was missing out on a ton of experience because the service crew level up a lot faster and further when they are not subordinates

You have to set a blacklist. It's in Global orders after you click on the little man on the top of maps then go to the globe on the left sidebar then on the left is Blacklist. you can set up a blacklist that will disallow either military or civilian ships from entering sectors with faction or dangerous traits. Im really not trying to go overboard or nothing or being a poop about every little detail. But your ships will aoutopliot around the hazrds in The Void. I experimented with that with a Vulture and she survived trading there indefinitely. In Avarice they run to Vigor territory during tides. Then they resume normal activities. Just a heads up.

I had a nap and now can brain better. :) It looks like I do not have Sectors containing dangerous regions "upticked" on either the Salvage Blacklist or the Travel Blacklist. To the left of it says Do not traverse: then there are two options to the right of that that that say Sectors containing dangerous regions and Sectors owned by enemies. I have both options unselected or not "upticked". I would figure not selecting those two options would mean that ships assigned to those blacklists WILL traverse sectors containing dangerous regions and sectors owned by enemies.

You're saying that if I "uptick" the sectors containing dangerous regions thingy deal then they WILL traverse sectors contiaining dangerous regions? Or do I need another nap? I'm confused now.

or is my issue that I don't have military ships and civilian ships "upticked"? My Teuta has Salvage Blacklist on it's individual instructions. Shouldn't it apply even though the "default" isn't "upticked"?

The fleet wide blacklist is the little man process. If you want to individually set the ships to avoid certain sectors then you do it in the ship behavior tab. If you uptick the avoid hazardous sectors your fleet or ship will avoid those sectors. You can also avoid sectors owned by factions in those orders. As an example I click on the Xenon because I don't want my trade ships going from Hatikva I into Tharka whatever on their way to Family Zhin. I also click on the military ships because I send reinforcements to my fleets in Family Zhin from my HQ/Shipyard in Memory of Profit IX

I'm not sure what to make of this comment, but I believe this conversation is missing some details that may help you, help me, better. This is my original issue which should show the issue I had before I changed the Teuta from 0/5 jumps to 5/5 jumps. (which appeared to correct the issue) I haven't redressed the issue or troubleshot further since then.

I hope the link works but if it doesn't,
The title of the discussion is:
A curious salvaging observation & question..

This screenshot is from today. (I'm pretty sure I haven't touched anything other than the jump range of the teuta from 0/5 to 5/5.) I thought I had everything setup correctly, but I'm not sure if I'm getting inaccurate input or if I have something setup wrong. As far as I remember this used to work as I intended it to before 7.0.

I'm wondering if something is up with hazardous regions or if I am missing something.

Gees. I'm embarrassed actually. I dropped the ball on the one yard line of the game winning touchdown. That all looks good. She's making scrap!
