Where did my pilot go?

I told one of my pilots to go from a fighter docked at a HAT free port to a freighter also docked at the HAT free port. While waiting for her to walk to the freighter, I queued an order for her to fly the freighter to a wharf and sell some of it's items.

I kept checking for the freighter to move, but it never did. Eventually, I cleared the orders to try putting them in again. But when I tried, I was told the freighter had no captain.

When I checked my personnel screen, I can't find the pilot listed. Where did she go?

She was one of my better pilots, so I want to find her.

Go to the player information screen and click on the little icon on the list to the left that looks like a dude on a suit kinda. That's personell management for your empire. Filter by role and skill level

Yeah, that's where I've been looking, but she's not there

But wait. It gets worse...

I assigned another pilot to fly the ship to a wharf and sell it. Once the ship was sold, the second pilot disappeared too. Before all this, I had seven employees. Now I have five. How did those two disappear?

Idk how the first disappeared but the second went with the ship when you sold it

yeeeeppppp... sold my best pilot today as well... not sold, gave him away for free... the game gives no warning you learn the hard way.
