lol no. You can earn enough rep quick enough to buy one. But unless you're using cheats there is no free Katana. In fact this game will work you like a ♥♥♥♥♥. And then spit you out.

There may be one if a pilot bails out in a conflict zone, but yeah, likely not gonna find one through just lying around. You might get one playing through the Terran Cadet start.

But he couldnt remember the sector, from what he said it was segaris or frontier edge

There is no free Katana and there never has been. They cost about 6 million and it's one of the finest ships you'll ever own.

It's sigatarios something rather, they used to have same rep as scale pack, can't loose rep candy gain rep, atleast before
I think now they are a proper faction I think
That "free katanas" I think not valid anymore
Byt again, just get one, and rinse your rep, it doesn't take long really

If you hand over the Moreya to the terran instead of Boso you get a katana

Other then that it all about getting PIO Katana to bail

lol I never knew that. Of course handing that ship to anyone but Boso is dumb, so that's probably why I don't know.

it is worth noting that although theres no free katana, you do get a Syn as part of the Terran plotline

3 types of "free katana" that you can get:
1. Free for doing the Terran questline after you start the Defenders of Sol plot. You have to turn in the Moreya for it.
2. "Free" Katana when you start the Terran Pilot start. Once you kill the initial Xenon a Katana with meson beams appears. You can make it bail without rep loss.
3. Many "free" Katanas in the PIO territory called "Freelancer" that you can make bail without a rep loss. I think there's a set amount that don't respawn, but I'm not completely sure about that.

You don't consider turning someone in a quest free?

Get rep with PIO high enough to join their trade guild and do the missions where you have to salvage abandoned ships. Sometimes that ship will be a Katana. You're supposed to turn it in, but you only lose 5 rep if you abort the quest after you got the ship. You can easily fix the rep by having a small miner or two on automine in one of their systems.

I got an abandoned Katana near sagaris sector, but i'm playing a custom game so not sure if that is why etc?
