How do friend/foe mines work, and how am I alive?
I was exploring a sector, and I found myself flying through massive fields of friend/foe mines. Additionally, the forces in the sector were primarily Kha'ak, so I assume the mines were owned by Kha'ak.

But if they were owned by Kha'ak, then how am I alive? How do friend/foe mines work.

For that matter, how do tracker mines work, and what are they good for? Putting lo-jack on an enemy ship?

Pretty sure the khaak don't put down mines as far as I'm aware. I'm assuming a faction must have laid the mines and like many minefields they haven't been cleared lol

If the mines are red on the radar/map, they're hostile. If they're not red, they're not hostile.

Friend/Foe mines work by moving towards anything that is hostile and detonating. However even if you are not hostile and you physically run into one, it will still detonate.

Select a mine to see which faction placed them. It also tells you the current standing. If the reputation is at least -19 you should be fine. But at -20 or less you may want to avoid the FOE mines.

Are friend foe mines good to defend against Khaak in mining areas or are they too fast? I seriously have had zero success with using mines ever in any situation; besides dying to my own mines or just hitting other mines in battle fields I dont see and exploding. Will there be a mines patch making them more feasible for the player maybe? :P

Mines doesn't work if you are OOS. (out of sector)
