Which starting scenario gives me the most OP start?
Like which starting scenario gives me the best ship rewards or other unlocks from story missions that will help me make money and or give me good ships asap? Seems like I'm not making that much money from manual mining, should I just focus on missions? I have 250,000 credits right now with young fun start but seems like they nerfed mining and looting which are two of the recommended things in videos I saw to make money

Once you have a few games done, you can do the budgeted start.
You can then start a game with millions of assets, the HQ, some research etc.

Dont look at OP starting scenarios. Learn the mechanics. Missions, mining, selling claimed ships ... you can even take your starting S class ship and go to asteroids for eggs and make around 1kk/h (25eggs). First ~700k buy M class miner (MK2) and send it for mining (it will pay off after the first hour). HAT plot - free ship after first mission, send it to do foodstuff missions. Build fast solar power plant (for example in The Reach sector - almost 400% sunlight), you have blueprints already. Hunt and claim SCA Minotaur Raiders - sell or keep (15 crew - few ships and you can start hunting and board L class ships). Guil war missions (like Argon Vs Xenon) - you can easily multiply your money - it is like cheating.

last game i played the split NYA start .. i flew 2 systems and a cutscene of an argon diplomacy ship (m-type drone carrier) came up ... i chased it and started to fire at it and they just bailed :) it was a fully upgraded one and i sold the engine, wepons and shilds for 6 mill, send it on looting mission and bought a brand new split dragon fully loaded

tldr: the most op start is the lucky one :)

Rushing for power isn't a good idea in your first few games.
Take your time, enjoy the game, later it becomes a bit more of a spreadsheet empire management game, and may be less satisfying.

Start looking for the hacking control panel missions, getting a security slicer etc - 100 odd K, but .5 million return.

set a few small ships to collect drops then dock in a combat area will collect lots of good stuff. Wait till no hostiles then order then to do it again....

Use the time to explore, and learn. or you will miss out on much of the atmosphere and fun.

get the Player hq, get teleports and hack modules and emp bombs should be early goals.
start mining and trading with any races you want as friends to gain rep and money.

Any start is capable of becoming OP in the space of an hour or two. you can get three destroyers on the Terran side fairly quickly assuming you have timelines as well. That makes up for the Odysseus Vanguard, Sapporo and Syn. for all the other starts might take a little effort on the Terran rep but they can get three destroyers as well.

The PHQ can be acquired quickly and early if you have Kingdom End installed to skip the rescue mission, acquiring the HQ and building a dock by simply going into Heretic's End.

Use the Odysseus Vanguard stripped of everything but the basics and shield gens, load it with marines from the vigor shipyard, board a high crew capacity ship with a low amount of current crew, board it and take the ship. use that ship loaded with marines from the vigor shipyard to take other ships, construction ships are easy targets for marine training and you can make a lot of credits from selling their equipment and then the ship itself, or capture an Asgard very early from the intervention fleet, then you'll have a small fleet and a flagship to use. After this go after construction ships to take over.

you can easily salvage lost reputation by destroying criminal traffic, or getting a mission to destroy criminal traffic.
