M: ion pulse - awesome range, deadly accuracy or in other words: fighters hate them.
L: depends - more versatile is the phase turret. But I usually have ion flak turrets and an ion net launcher on my Ray destroyers. Sadly the number of L turret slots on boron ships is very low.
The Hydra should use the pulse railgun in their main slots. It's just awesome against S and M ships - and very deadly against surface elements, too. That way the turrets on the Hydra don't matter (I use ion pulse there as well).
Best boron platform against fighters is IMHO the Guppy. Again, fill all slots with ion pulse turrets and add 8 Makos - you can even down a K with that. (if you let the Makos disarm the K).
Ray with Ion Pulse\Ion Flak works better, it has better maneurability.
And you just immobilize those Ks with main gun then shoot his big turrets.
And you don't need to manage fighters.
I've tried Guppy a hour ago and it's really "meh" compared to Ray.
TBH i think Ray is the best SOLO anti-Xenon destroyer.
