Brennan's Trial, how to complete?
Maybe I am doing something wrong, but the moment you take out all the turrets and the allied fleet arrives, it just becomes endless combat. Eventually allied ships get destroyed, but after destroying 60 xenon ships myself, nothing is happening. And when the Allied capital ships are destroyed, they all go on me and I'm destroyed within seconds. Is there something specific I am suppose to be doing or destroying?

Mission guidance should always tell what to do, this mission is very linear in that regard. Pay attention to the targets and mission instructions. Dont be afraid to use pause and have a look at the map and mission instructions.

They need to do damage to the MO ship a video pops up on right showing it then a vent in the back middle vent opens up and you shoot

Yep, I'm having the same issue. 30 minutes of game time locked in pretty challenging combat and at the same point each time I get swarmed with no way of avoiding it, just watching my shields and hull go down, to be unceremoniously dumped to the mission report screen with zero stars to show for it.

This is the opposite of fun.

Literally have not seen this. What triggers that?!?

After turrets, you take out that side pylons. Than when shield drops low enough, weak point opens.
That's what should happen.
In this mission there's only one non-obvious trigger (and might be a bug) - if you jump through without destroying guarding fleet at jump gate you won't get allied reinforcements at which point you basically cannot proceed.
After that it's cakewalk - be around your allies to ensure your tail is always protected, clear any Xenon B (as the most dangerous component of the battlefield) before proceeding further, afterwards destroy turrets, destroy arms and destroy power core after dealing a hefty amount of damage to M0 hull.

Thank you. I'll give that a go and see if I can take my attention off the swarm killing me long enough to get that done.

What would really help that is if my weaponry didn't spread fire like it was cross-eyed and yes that's me moaning because this DLC is really painful.

Yeah, I had to attack the M0 myself, to get the shield to drop slightly, and then the event popped for the exposed area that you can attack. The allied capital ships do not fire a single shot at the M0 in my mission.

I jumped through the gate cuz a couple of ships guarding the gate jumped through, I destroyed them, and was able to jump back and continue the mission normally. So I think that jumping back might resolve that.

Either way, OP, if you get a couple of fighters on your tail, or start taking major shield damage, don’t forget to use your boost. It doesn’t eat much shield, and it’s a really strong boost, getting you out of range of most tailing ships in seconds.

Right now, I'm having a real issue with the second sector. Every time I fire a weapon, the ship spazzes out shaking like a dog pooping a peach pit. I can't fire in a straight line anymore. It only happens in the second sector, though, not throughout the mission and sometimes I can fire without the shaking, most times I cannot.

Can you check your both FPS and weapon handing (shooting all weapons at once) in:
- the first sector
- in the second sector BEFORE those rotating amplifiers are destroyed
- in the second sector AFTER amplifiers are destroyed and ally + xenon massive fleets rush into battle
and post results here?

In the first sector nothing occurs with weapon group 1, 2, 3, or 4. They all fire normally without shaking.
In second sector, all groups induce shaking equally. And begins the moment I engage the outlying B's. When engaging the M0, the shaking continues. Only the fact that everything is so HUGE and I can get up close and personal was I able to continue (and even at point-blank range, I missed many times).
Once the amplifiers are destroyed and the allied fleet comes in, it does seem like the shaking gets worse but it's really hard to tell. FPS remains stead at around 30 during sector 1 and 2 before the fleets arrive, drops to 15 after fleet arrivals. I can make a brief video if that'll help.

I did experience same issue, but it seems to related specifically to fleets arriving for me. Anyway you can read my conclusion and watch video here:

May be even participate in the thread =)

Btw, while in my video its not that obvious, but in real fight I get same recoil as you are. That is because in the video I shoot straight forward and in fight autoaiming makes push vector under none zero angle towards shuttle and mess things up.

The recoil on the weapons do get worse with lower FPS. Going from manageable shaking to throwing you quite far off target with small bursts. But the M0 is a large target, so mostly doesn't matter.
