New External View Thoughts?
What does everyone think of the new External Camera in 7.0? I for one wish I still had my stabilized F2 camera on the second press. I like the feel it can give during combat, but when flying a capital ship... no so much.

Ya, I wish you could toggle the camera modes. I tend to use 3rd person mode when flying the Erlking during combat so I can evade L weapon fire... and I find I'm now CONSTANTLY adjusting the camera because I can't pick a good angle and have it stay there. Which is what I used to do.

Crosshair of new external view is missaligned, cant even hit a gate with it from the other side of the sector.

So... its good, but needs fixing.

Aside from that, it would be nice if the "limit" of camera rotation would be relative to the ship, not the "sector plane" (when flying up/down the camera becomes really awkward when rotating it via numpad)

I really like the new external view, but yes... It would be better if you could toggle the rotation mode. The alignment is off, too, and if you zoom out it gets even worse. Avorion has a similar camera adjustment option, but it feels way better. I think the main problem is, that X4 tries to keep the ship in the center. So, you either look at the top of your ship (zoomed out) or you're blocking your view, if you move the camera down.

Playing with only it since beta.
-ctrl-e camera position adjustments should be saved somewhere in file, now they are resetting every load.
-drift for capitals is absurd
- mentioned crosshair, now Im using weapons fire point (when nothing is targeted) and kinda get used to it, but could be better.

Every single one your points are spot on. I noticed the Capital Drift is impossible to stop. I came up to a station and if I didn't get out of travel mode at least 15 clicks before the station I would blow past it.

Is there no breaks anymore haha. I remember turning off the travel drive was pretty instant previously.

Thought there lots of improvements in the UI I feel the game play has taken a lot of drastic changes that, I for one, don't like the direction this is going.

A stabilized external view would be great as I really like to see the action out of the perspective of my foe but if I now watch a fighter I am getting dizzy XD

To be fair, I was writing about camera drift during turns :)
Not a ship break delay. That one I can understand - heavy stuff stops slower, and we are flying inside gelly anyways ;)
