Unlock timelines content without playing missions
I enjoy playing the sandbox game, I have exactly 0 interest in these missions - but I like more ships/sectors etc in my sandbox. How do I skip playing the missions and just get the new stuff in the actual game?

As with most content that's unlocked through stories, like for example in older DLC, you can gain access through the creative start. :)

About that, though. It seems like the old Terran ship's equipment is missing from creative start, at least as blueprints. You can pick the equipment if you create a fleet of the ships, but cannot pick the blueprints to start. Unless it's intended that you can only get the engines/shields/weapons from the derelict ships?

So unless I complete timelines missions that aren't part of my play-through I cant just play one of the "normal sandbox scenarios" without missing out on whole sectors and ships? I have to "cheat them in" with creative mode?

Why not just add a "complete all timelines button" in the settings? Then I can use the new content in normal sandbox games. Hopefully a MOD does this ASAP and adds new ships to the appropriate faction's fleets?

What about those who do not want to start over? Can I unlock everything without playing these annoying missions in my current save?

Anyone try the userdata stuff yet?

If your willing to download and try using my userdata file it you might not even have to touch timelines since I finished it already

ok I just tested it with the no steam.exe and it worked

All the rewards spawned in and epilogue as well on the normal X4 folder instead of steam folder.

So yah if you aren't oppose to editing or replacing the userdata file with someone who already completed the missions, you can ignore the DLC mission

The userdata files are in documents/egosoft/x4/"steamnumber"/
Edit:
Here a completed one except for the extra mission that doesn't do anything

Just BACKUP your original files just in case then slap these two in and enjoy the rewards if you can find them in their respective sectors

If i replace that with my current files it'll mess up my existing/current sandbox progress yes?
would it be a better idea for me to merge the timelines data (from yours) into my file?
it seems rather straight forward (most params are clearly tagged) i'm just new at tinkering with X4

Cheers

You can copy paste if you feel like it

There should be a clear divide when timeline start happening

Thank you very much! I've been having issues with missions bugging and my general lack of skills in gameplay. This file of yours is a godsend. :steamhappy:

I know this sounds stupid but, you do need the timelines dlc for this to work right?

You can't exactly unlock something when it doesn't exist lol

I told you it was a stupid question. But I was thinking maybe the assets were locked behind the update to 7.0 and the DLC held the key to unlock it.
