Has anyone managed to get TrackIR working with X4 in linux?
I loved using my TrackIr in X4... I guess that's another loss along with losing my Voice Attack commands and Astra I used to use...

It all added so much more immersion.

Oh well, Freedom has its price I'm willing to pay.

p.s. joystick works perfectly to my surprise tho...

You may need to modify the script to start whatever executable real trackIR needs

You say that so easily like "just walk through this door!"

I have no idea how to modify a script in Linux.

Linux track also does not want to play ball. I also get a warning that this is not a safe download. I know the problem is on my side since I just don't know the processes, but everyone on Linux talks like they think I should just `know`. I wish they would do a `Stey-by-Step` thing for us noobs.

I'm looking both right now. I'm still new to Linux so some of this is gonna take time... For instance, using the Terminal to get things happening. I will get it in time... But thankyou both.

p.s. When I finally learn this stuff I'm gonna make a "Linux tutorial for noobs and how to get stuff working in your games" that will explain things bit by bit so a complete noob will get it.

Just as an aside, I tried another Linux program called `Bottles` that actually got TrackIR up and running, but it's not communicating with the hardware at all, so that's a bust, but Bottles will be useful for other programs I've got that don't need hardware.

Iam honestly sorry i cant help further. Just got that tip out of Chat in my stream because there was somebody using Linux and i simply remembered your question here.

From what I learned about linux questions you need to post what your hardware is and what you did and current config for that file to get any help. If they view it simple they well tell you to read some help page. They expect you to be able to code your own software,
