Which missiles are good against capital ships?
I tried torpedoes but they do not do much if shields are not down, plus are too expensive. So i would like to know which missile is good against shields and which against the hull of capital ships. The emp are only to slow them down....

If torpedo aren’t doing enough you might want to look to see if they AI shooting it down

Torpedoes easily take out shield and hull

If your going for economy missile heavy dumbfire can do well

Torpedoes on a destroyer did not do much while the shields where up. Dump fire i do not like ,since you have to close up to the target. Another missile ?

Heavy Starburst are my usual go-to, though they're Split only (though the blueprints are cheap). Heavy swarm missiles also work pretty well against capitals and more resistant to being shot down, but they have much smaller AoE.

That said you still need swarms of bombers (about 5-10 for a K, twice that for an I).
A single missile launcher (or even a single ship with all launchers) won't do much against capital shields on its own.

That also applies to torpedoes - they do good dps compared to other anti-capital weapons, but it's not so much better that other missiles or energy weapons aren't competitive.

The main differences are alpha strike, range and fire rate - if you're not using enough torpedo bombers to kill a K in a single run there's very little reason to not use heavy missiles instead.
Because you're not really using either the range or the alpha strike and torps low rate of fire works against you with regards to missiles being shot down or flared.

Ideally you want a mix of torpedoes, swarm and starburst missiles to compensate for each others weaknesses. Torps work a lot better if there's a bunch of cheaper, faster-firing missiles around to bait out flares and attract anti-missile fire.

Oh wait your talking about as a solo ship aren’t you

If so you need shield bypass weapon if you don’t want to chip the shield down and instead just blow the shield hard point up and then use your torpedo

The hp of shield module is significantly less then the overall shield

Btw, I've used heavy swarm and was escaping light swarm missiles multiple times. And those are exceptionally vulnerable to countermeasures. Despite weapons guide asserts that flare resistance is 86%, in practice like half of launched missiles follow countermeasures. Weird.
Wonder if anybody has same experience or its just me unlucky...

Light swarm missiles work well enough if you can get close - that is if you are soloing it - get behind those engines.

Hate those stupid bug things.

PAR for the former, the latter can be bought from the Split (requires Split Vendetta DLC).

You cant run from me. Even L´s swear doom to the heven. Disrupter are in that category,
so if medium or lower you next pet pepered a shot with that .... :D :D
ok so the heavy swarm, is way mooore timely same catogary for L, aniolation, combined
with disrupter rhink the gun is called. Nemisis its the 5'th middle finger aahm mean a gun.
With two turrets

The spit Medium drift a bit, with 5 guns, using middle, rockets above, With two of rhe rest of
four as disintigraters ... three rocket types in same catogary... 4 Turrets, two in hind is beam
for missile defence. two turrets to fromt flak.
UNfortunitely, you need too make all with that one top notch crafting mods ... to make
it durable and Nifty for the fun job

OH yes !!! In the same catogary, i have a fouth type in same Boat the INTERCEPTER
for fun :D :D :D :D
Your ship may not fly slower than 6000 m/s correct me if im wrong :) and it
Will chase you for 135 km's :D :D
