Thanks, I dont believe i have ever used this setting Fill Shortages, I will check how it is used.
Come to think of it, back in X3TX wasnt there a settings copy option....? i seem to remember vaguely of something like that.
It's a little tedious but not particularly difficult.
1. go to the ships behavior tab, set behavior to hold position
2. select the repeat order behavior and set up your orders but don't hit confirm yet, keep that tab open
3. assign the ship to a commander (role doesn't matter afaict), wait until the assign order completes and it switches to being a subordinate on the list
4. confirm the repeat order
After that the ship performs its repeat orders as normal while still appearing as assigned to its commander, so you can just dump them all into a single fleet no matter what they're doing.
It also works for most other default behaviors, but autominers have an unfortunate tendency to go to their commanders sector instead of the ones assigned to them.
How I do in particular: setup 2 M gas miners + 2 S mineral miners (per each ware to mine) for the target sector and dock them. And then manage miners in between them assigning to mimic if needed. For example, if Ore is no longer required in nearby sectors I may throw more into Silicon mining by the matter of few clicks.
