I mean you can declare war against a faction but within 3 minutes it'll be all out galactic war as one of your escort ships on "intercept" attacks your foe in a neutral sector and now you've aggroed an ally's police and forgot one of your miners there had turrets on 'all enemies' so now the entire ally police is red etc etc.
I was hoping that Timelines would be a diplomacy and 4X update (expand, exploit, exterminate) but it's not that. So no benefit to wiping out MIN, it's not like you get their stations or resources.
maybe 7.00 improves that.
Same with the Terrans, depending on your choice during the "investigation" with ARG/ANT you can setup a war.
Doenst make the AI react to the Player tho.
Atleast not on a "Global scale".
You finally have... peace.
Is that not the ultimate goal?
I mean only the gettingpaid mod which adds salaries changes the game completelly, even a small fleet cost me a few million credits, 5 Million an hour for a military destroyer...
gotta have a civilian economy to have a decent workforce that will pay you taxtes so you don't go bankrupt.
Factions that have actually decent fleets, that can invade properly etc...
Give them proper shipyards that can actually build a whole fleet instead of 1 or 2 Destroyers every 30 minutes...
Give them less construction ships because they are waste of ressources and time (can't build a XL ship while they are building their 25th construction ship that won't do anything except wait for the player to hire it)....
The base game is too soft on the player, I like it more hardcore.
Make your own end game with mods.
Never really saw the appeal in that. There are two ways that occur to me to get around it: one is by playing more or less normally but having a much larger civilian economy—and thus worse overall game performance—than you'd normally require to support however many military ships you want. The other is to min max it with factories with no habitats, trade ships with no crew, defence platforms to kill things and gatherers to collect profitable items on repeat orders.
Are those that great of an experience?
ARG/ANT/BOR are now at war with TER and I guess I will let unified Paranids fight against everyone with the mod I use
There is a mod to make the factions hyper aggressive but there is a bug that ends in a memory leak, that makes the game stutter really bad in the main menu already. Wish I could use this mod.
And no faction can keep up with the proxy war that you fuel by pumping millions worth of resources into the universe
I think there should be some kind of cap, you should need to pay salaries at the very least with a difficulty slider to change wages from very low to very high...
Right now as some people said, build a wharf, get a fighter blueprint and just mass print fighters, I mean in one of my old game I had fleets of 1.000 fighters (several) when I launched an attack on a xenon shipyard I would select a few fleets, the game would freeze for a few seconds and then they would all move to eat the station to 0 HPs lol
Money in itself is not a problem for AI. AI have unlimited budget and print money each time it need it.
I had to do that in V3 with ROR mod. At that time L and XL ships had to cross portals one by one and with manuevers it took lot of time between two.
Strong defense and fleet were behing the the gate to protect main ennemy sector, and my strongest ships were not able to survive enough time for the next ship arrive to help.
I had to send 2000 fighters at once to open the way and distract ennemy enough for my fleet (at least a part can enter to do the job).
like you I had severe lags, but unlike you I had casualties.
