What happened to multiplayer..erm, thing?
Im not sure how to even call it but I remember developers trying to implement some sort of multiplayer that got massive hate from players. What happened to it? Is it get development or not?

Devs return it back to developing via player's feedback. It was fun but you must have a lot of time to send ships every some minutes to another Venture.

Situation was little more good at the end of the season but devs switch off this thing to upgarde it for next time.

My only issue with it was that mods disabled it. X4 is a game that highly benefits from mods and what little fun that system was, it didn't get close to the drawbacks of playing vanilla.

Absolutely true.

if you use mods the devs and forum mod will berate you and tell you they won't fix any bug you report without you reproducing it in a vanilla game (which may take literally hundreds of hours)

So...uh... The sane thing to do then? I mean, trying to troubleshoot a modified game is, honestly, a serious pain. And most of the time a complete waste of time, so....

And second that. Ventures will come back eventually. I mean, they weren't a 'Wow, this is amazing' sort of thing in the first place, just a nice way to pick up some extra loot and spend some extra time with spare ships is all.

Depending on the level of my empire i.e. just starting out or focusing on raising faction I can see the game break in 15 minutes or so. Once you find immortal station traffic lots of other things are/will break at that point. Turrets will be useless and some L destroyers will be unable to hit targets at range while stationary like mines and laser towers.

That is begging to be beaten to death with a debug executable as I can reproduce it on 6.20 on 4 different systems. Linux and Windows Steam or no_Steam.exe it makes no difference.

Mods are great but they also introduce a lot of issues specially for people who download mods without reading what they do etc...
Plus a lot of modders make changes that they don't even list on the mods description...

Good luck troubleshooting this

And? Its nonsensical to expect devs to fix broken mods for you. They have enough on their plate.

It was ironic that they introduced the Venture system and Workshop support with the launch of X4, then said "Pick one." And by ironic I mean misguided, as if getting little rewards in my solo game matters to anyone else. (yeah, I understand the support issues. Let me vent.)
