Pegasus is the fastest flyable small/medium ship in travel speed.
Large and XL ships however beat it.
Chthonios for example is 7537
I say the reason people choose to fly the pegasus because it just feels better than trying to fly those big ships even if they do have a faster travel drive.
And yes I use mostly use pegasus to explore, and as personal taxi too. In first game I used more often gargon as taxi for security reasons
An heavy split miner can reach around 9700 with argon engine.
However the real reason of the post is I think there is sometime strange thing with splits stuff. When I look on comparable ships with the same engine I m sometime doubtful.
Probably at vanilla many people used paranid combat engine for S and M fighting ship. You took now the same ship and just with split cruise engine you outperfome in any stat except turbo. It lets my a bit perplex.
