And, yeah, Terran medium proton barrage should be eviscerating small ships...
One of my favorites is the Beam Emitter with the Slasher mod (+damage %, +reload speed %, -cooling %); if you can get a high enough % for the reload speed (re-roll), it becomes a continuous laser beam. :-D
If you dont have access to them then get dragon with 6 lasers if you fight agains fighters, if against frigates and bigger, get mortars on it, 6 of them wipe out anything on ship, if not, just shot again, if then no, then you deffinetly miss and shot better... Good carpenter use not one tool, he have many tools for many tasks, you just dont get them all.
Also I use auxillary carrier to store all my ships at one place and have ability to call reinforcments in case of problems. This allo repair on the go And it allow resupply my ship with mines and rockets if needed. Also my carrier have tier 3 hull upgrade agains radar detection, so enemy most time not see it or see when it passing gates if sattelites present nearby...
You know what its like to spend 250k on a broken skid steer and loader? ....

As to the Aim Assist... Oh Yes... Always On... and Oh No... I miss a lot :)>; I'm usually trying to avoid too many hits, so I'm Barrel Rolling, Strafing, and Evading as much as possible; but hitting (I'd say) at least 60% of the time. (Okay... Maybe I should have mentioned that as well. :)
Okay... I think I'll go back to the Katana, and go with 4 Protons. I prefer the Katana mostly because it Looks more Formidable... and I get 2 Co-Pilots. However... I like the extra GunMount on the Nemesis for Missiles; but Missiles don't seem to do much anyways; but I still like firing them - LoL :).

@Ryno: Using 4 Proton seems to have done the trick; I'm doing Much Much better with taking down Xenon Ns and Ms... and even Ps don't last as long. However... I may give your Ion Blasters a go; it would be nice to be able to drop their Shields quickly; then go in for the Kill. Not to mention that may also help with Corvettes and Destroyers. Corvettes aren't too much of an issue, especially if I target their HardPoints; but Destroyers are a massive pain; even after taking out Engines, Guns and Missiles; I barely scratch the surface of their Shield Modules; let alone the Ship itself. But, at least, it's a Sitting Duck by the time my Destroyer 'Finally' gets there :).
Makes no difference since service crew use Engineering as their main skill. However, service crew level up their morale quite fast, so it's a natural place to look for new pilots.
In my opinion, in corvettes turrets serve the function of harassing the enemy target, depleting their shield and preventing it from regenerating, not dealing raw damage; you have 4-6 main weapons for that!
Again... Good Point; but still wish they had more Kick :).
I gotta admit, that sounds like a Dream Set-Up; sadly, however, I couldn't support the Yaki, So No Kuroakami for Me :`(.

I used a Shard early on, You're correct... UnderRated. With perfect timing you can drop and N or M in a single pass (Dropping their shields with Other weapons while closing); *And* the Shard actually makes a Great Crystal Mining Weapon. But on a Corvette with their Lack of Range and the Corvettes Lack of Maneuverability (vs a Fighter) I had to get rid them; but I do miss their 'Sudden Death' Intensity :).
Now... if I could just learn to Shoot Straight - LoL; and before you ask... Yes I'm using Auto-Aim; but when I Spray & Pray... I probably need to Pray harder :D.
