VRO experience and mod suggestion?
I love this game, but it has its flaws.

One is the AI. It seems to have trouble using forward facing guns on capital ships, which usually ends up with me taking over the ship. However, I'm pretty sure the AI will handle turrets better, so that leads to my questions.

1. Will battles last longer with the VRO mod, and will the unit behavior be better (due to the use of turrets?)?

2. Does VRO work well with the Boron ships?

3. What are your personal experiences with VRO (and ship packs that focus more on turret ships like the Rebirth pack or the Ship Variation expansion)?

4. What other mods would you recommend to make the game feel less "arcady"? (Right now destroyer battles are over pretty quickly. Ks are less of a threat than a nuisance.)

Starting a new game and losing all progress will hit me pretty hard since I don't have much time. So if I take this step, it has to be well thought out.

Well, with x4 the Destroyer Battles are no more longer Arcady, i play with this Mods to make the whole game more immersive :

VRO - cant play Without, its a must have
KUDA AI tweaks - better fighting behavior
Friendly fire tweaks - no more FF in Big fights
Recycle Ships and Stations - get ressources and Blueprints from ships
Mules Supply and Warehouse Extended - only way to supply your stations
Fix Bail Logic - Pirates sometimes flee when they´r about to loose
Sector Satellites - just try it, its awesome
Sector Explorer - makes the gamestart more comfy
Reaction Force - this taskforce , amazing, you will love it
X4 Fire and Smoke - makes boom boom beautiful
Tater Trader - best trader AI, setup Fleet -> Dead Tater- Set max distance and make profit
