Edit: I'm also curious what the storyline mission is you avoided.
If you really rage quit cos of that, well... your loss.
For me it's anything to do with being in a space suit. the second you make me pop out of my ship to do something I'm immediately annoyed.
How is it when someone has an issue with the game, they make it sound like that's ALL the game is about?
That doesn't mean it's not possible I'm pretty sure if you attempt to go round a few times and don't complete it within a specific time limit, it automatically "finish" the time trial and continues on in the plot
I quite like the races. Makes a change from pew pewing. Adds a bit of life to the X universe.
The other 2 are fake and will complete regardless of how you perform.
The Avarice race you always lose and the gambling module circuit completes after the 5th lap, regardless of performance.
The engine research literally just requires you to bring a ship with enough travel speed and then fly in a straight line, job's done. That is not even racing. You fly in a straight line all the time in this game.
Tides of Avarice mission is not a race either, it's a scripted even. It's pretty obvious you cannot win it once you do it a single time. You do the mission like any other.
The casino mission does not require you to be good either, I completely butchered this mission as well since I brought a ship that had horrible steering and the game passed me on the third lap (which I am 100% sure was THE WORST one of my laps). The game literally takes pity on you if you're not good at it, is that not exactly what you want?
Besides, what about people who LIKE racing? How is their definition of fun less relevant than yours? If somebody hates station building, should they come here and complain they deleted the game just because they didn't like it, and tell the devs they should replace it with something better? Obviously not, that's a ridiculous proposition. I bet you every single person can find something in this game they do not like, and the normal reaction to such a thing is not uninstalling the game because they didn't like a single aspect of it, a normal reaction is to just not do a thing they don't like. It's a sandbox game... You cannot please everybody, so don't be such a drama queen.
And, dare I say, if you actually rage quit the whole game over something so insignificant, then you don't enjoy it much in the first place. See ya!
