finding black market traders?

Had one black market mission early game, before I had the right items, but nothing since.
I feel the need to find a bar.
Is there any prerequisite / blocker to this. I have even tried running around in a ship without a police scanner and still can't find any.
Get plenty of kill xxx or hack etc, but no black market traders.

they are kinda rare (for a reason, i suppoes). Go into scan mode (SHIFT +2), and scan for the sparkler type missions, there will be some descent missions, but your liiking mostly for ones requesting spacefly caviar, or even on occasion space fly eggs.

The distribution of these missions/dealers is horrible, seems nothing improved with version 6.00 either. Sometimes there are no dealers in any station in a 10 sector cluster. Sometimes they are on over 90% of all stations in a major cluster. Sometimes every single station of one faction in a sector has them and zero other faction stations in the same sector have any. I've asked repeatedly on the discussion board if anyone knows ANYthing that can affect their spawning but haven't gotten a single reply that has any basis in reality, it would be wonderful if anyone does have actual insight into something that can affect the distribution but as far as I know the game randomly locks in the dealers on start and you can't do anything about it no matter what, just keep scanning hundreds of stations and hope for the best and then 300 hours into your game pray to the ancients that you don't have to give up and wipe your save and start over to get to roleplay as a druglord. -_-

thanks, I finally got 1 or 2 in vig space, but nothing elsewhere since the initial one I couldn't do.
First playthrough for a year or so, so now I remember more, I may start again
