Project Genesis Question
Am I supposed to lose the rapier? While I was on an EVA doing repair work I went through the whole displacement thingybob, and I didn't see my former ship anywhere. Can I just cruise around in my new ship with my new alien buddy?

No, you don't loose the ship. It's still where you left it, but it's kinda far from where you were teleported to.

Hire a crew captain, after you eva just order it to dock at a station, then when you need it you can just call it over or strip and sell it

I'm not sure I understand this as I've just started playing. How do I locate my original ship if it's drifting around in space somewhere?

This has a long moderate hard learning curve, and a lot of micro management to take in, plenty of missions that show you what it all does to some degree :), however for you Press M to open the map, on the left vertical column 2nd one down opens the property owned, all your ships & stations are there in green.

On the left hand side of the map there is a tab for owned ships and stations it will be in there along with any other vessels you posses

Do you recommend trying a different start as my first game instead of this one? I liked the name because it reminded me of The Wrath of Khan.

It's a good start! (And the Rapier is a nice scout, too!) I think Colmaniac is talking about the game in general.

That said... (plug plug)

It's been a while since I loaded up this game, but, for what it's worth, it does appear that my Rapier was, indeed, lost. It is not listed in my assets. All I have is the station and the alien ship that picked me up. I'll probably just start over since I wasn't very far in.
