Engines Constantly Randomly Stop Working

I am constantly getting a issue where my ship drifts uncontrollably after entering combat or sometimes just simply when switching out of travel mode. I can't steer the ship or use the throttle. there is no rhythm or reason to it. getting up from my seat doesn't fix it, saving and reloading doesn't fix it even the AI captain can't steer the ship ones it becomes uncontrollable. This issue is completely making the game unplayable for me and makes me regret purchasing it. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews of the game, so i thought the bugs can't be that bad but this is horrible issue.

If anyone knows any solution or has been encountering the same issue please let me know thanks in advance.

Sounds like you are losing flight control assistance. Default shortcut for this is Ctrl+Space. Or just do a quick boost (Tab), that should restore control too.

BTW, this is not random. But it is annoying at first.

Small ships can get stuck in L/XL ships on rare occasions when in system, their attempts to move will move your ship and glitch out your engine/thrusters. I've had that happen once in 6.0, in Hativah's choice in the mission reward Syn where an N got stuck in the "nose". I had to go backwards at full speed and strafe up to dislodge it.

Flight control assistance being off is shown on your hud quite clearly, at least in unmodded games.

Teleporting out of the ship to a ship in another system and back might also fix it. Collisions work differently when you're not in the system.

yea i had that issue with some S ships trying to dock into my carrier and just getting stuck in a perpetual drift. at least now i know the error of my ways xD
