The long range worked as intended but I'm unsure how to use the short range to scan the gate, I've flown around it a few times with the short range scanner but no new info is getting picked up.

oh okay, I was pressing R and stuff, wasn't working. Thanks

Okay, im at approx 950 m with scan mode on and pressing shft and all the buttons, nothing seems to be working.

yep, did set target on map and then tried locking on with T while facing.

If anyone else has this issue it's real dumb, make sure the mission is reselected then the two areas to scan are within 50 ish meters of the sides of the gate :/
