it's probably cheaper than building a station yourself but that's going to surely fix your problem with the ware shortage, especially in the long run.
this sounds good but how do i tell how much demand for certain items there are in factories? I wouod build my own station but i'm not there yet
you'll need to scan the factories and its storage facilities along the production line of the ware, in your case Advanced Electronics - just like you would on a NPC Wharf/Shipyard to identify trading opportunities
You could go down that route.
Pause the game and take stock of all factories and their interdependancies. Log down the cycles for production and at the end you have for each sector a figure of net in and out of each material. Then you can calculate the hourly rate of that to keep it going and supply the freighters needed to meet the difference.
That is certainly possible. But I wonder if ANYONE has ever done that.
Instead, just buy some freighters, use "Buy In" and "Sell In" repeat orders for the core resources in the chain leading to Advanced Electronics, and let the rest happen organically.
Advanced Electronics needs Energy Cells, Microchips, Quantum Tubes, so set up some trade ships to keep the supply running.
You will find that the games economy is usually short on Advanced Electronics, Claytronics, Hull Parts, and Weapon Components. In the short term this can be fixed just by hauling wares that the stations need. In the long term it is far better to build your own self sufficient stations that produce these high end goods. A Mega-Station that just takes ore, silicon, ice, methane, hydrogen, and helium as inputs and produces everything needed to feed 8x Adv, Electrons, 8x hull parts, and 8x claytronics makes 27 million credits an hour. Of course, it's going to cost a lot to build it...about 200 Million.
