Something I am REALLY tired of:
So damn MANY times, I pick a ship I want to keep with me for awhile as my personal gig. I dock it on one of my bigger ships, like the Erlking, and go use that for a while. Then I come back to the smaller ship... but it's gone!

Why? Because the damn thing doesn't get rid of an order once it completes it. It's gotten up and flown back to wherever I told its pilot to take it the last time. I don't get it. It COMPLETED the order! So why does it still think I want it to do that?! Stupid.

If I wanted that ship to have a permanent home base that it would always go back to, I would set it one in BEHAVIORS, not by telling it 'fly to' or 'dock at'. Those are ONE TIME commands! I do NOT want it to keep going back somewhere just because I tell it to fly there once!

This is STUPID.

Though sometimes it has come in handy. I just try to remember to check.

Right click your small ship > remove all orders.

Yeah, I hate having to clear orders first whenever I fly the ship. I hate the fact that if I start flying the ship first, the order hides itself, only to pop back up after I dock the ship somewhere, by which time I've forgotten about it. And I hate, hate, HATE the fact that if I forget to clear the damn orders, the ship will probably be clear across the network when I try to find it again.

What were they thinking? No... What were they smoking?

I know. Duh. I am tired of people telling me the obvious workaround that everybody knows, as if that makes it less damn STUPID that we need a workaround for something this basic!

Stop thinking that a word of advice--basic, redundant advice at that--somehow kills my point. Also stop thinking that just because I am complaining about something, I'm asking for help. I'm not. I'm venting. The game devs need to fix this, not you.

Sound to me like you turned off marooning in the global order and are now complaining that the feature that there to stop your ship from doing exactly that is inactive

One day, one of your trading ships will cross pirates or khaak base, and you'll wish you dont need to set their default behavior every time you manually override it

Nope. Nothing to do with my problem, you just pulled something out of your butt that you thought would make me look bad.

This is something that happens when you take over control of a ship that had a Captain and it reverts back to the last order when the relief pilot takes over. As mentioned Remove all orders after relief pilot takes back control after getting up from the Cockpit. I rarely take control i just let the captains take me around the universe unless its something that requires me to be in the cockpit. Captains and Crew Members seem to level up Morale faster when you are present riding on a vessel as a rider.

This also has nothing to do with my problem. The whole damn POINT is that I HAVE NOT SET THESE SHIPS TO A DEFAULT BEHAVIOR.

Why does every complaint bring out the twits who don't bother to actually pay attention?

They're just all my little "special" crew members.

You've got it completely wrong. Read more carefully and try again.

Default behavior is still a set of orders. Must be nice having a trading ship full of container and now it doesnt knw where to go, cos you manually override its order 🤷‍♂️

it literally right there in the "Marooning Protection" in Global order

"Your ships will wait for you before undocking if you are on the same ship or station"
"Your current ship will wait for you when the relief pilot take over"

Yep read it again and my answer is whats going on. Even if you complete the order if you take control over a ship and then let the relief pilot take back control he reverts back to the last order of where he was last docked before you took control. So read my answer and try again.

Again, NO, this is not the problem. The problem is that the last order I gave the ship was to dock at something. Then I took control of the ship and flew it to one of my dreadnoughts so I could use it as a personal gig. Then it reverted to the previous order and flew back to the last ship I told it to dock at, meaning it wasn't where I needed it when I needed it there.

It has exactly squat to do with marooning protection, and in fact it happens just the same with marooning protection active, BECAUSE THE MAROONING PROTECTION SHUTS OFF WHEN YOU TAKE CONTROL OF ANOTHER SHIP ANYWAY, meaning that as soon as I take control of my dreadnought, the small ship immediately takes off!

And you haven't paid attention, you haven't thought it through, and you have wasted both of our time TWICE on this crap.
