How to use Cobra
Got a free Cobra and upgraded it a little bit and it's a great ship. But I don't understand what it s purpose is.

Why does it have a dock? Why would I need to carry an S class on its back?

Basically what are these types of ships for?

Also the turrets are cool but one of the options is "mining". How does this work exactly? Just highlight a rock and itl auto mine?

Its so super helpful for mission running there are just so many stupid dock on this ship oh but you can only dock with a small ship missions in this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game
Cobra is your best friend and a good personal ship. With split mk4 engines it goes 700m/s, charges travel mode instantly up to 3.5km/s, can have four flak guns to mince small targets, a combination of primaries to deal with enemies - I use split pulse lasers, because they penetrate shields and can disable large ship modules, making it easy to board. It can hold 25 marines that, with training, can board practically anything. Small ship dock is good for when you need to dock to a freighter or a destroyer without medium pads, want to hide contraband or deliver passengers, since your primary ship will usually be full of marines. Moreover, if you get PAR to rep 10+, you can buy yourself any small ship with 4 hardpoints and install their beams that are devastating against modules - it takes about one minute to strip xenon I of all of it's guns and shield generators, leaving it vulnerable to your frigate. It's a versatile and unkillable ship through speed alone. It looks like heap of garbage with guns and a cockpit though.

Just to not confuse others, split dont have they're own Pulse Lasers, what he means are the Thermal Disintegrator wich indeed ignore a percentage of the shields and also applying a Damage over Time Effect to it wich can stack.
Downside is that they lack shield damage and that they - in split fashion - are not very precise.

Because having more ships on your side >>>>>> having a better wpn or equipment. Having more ships means the enemies are not always on your tails and allow your ship's shield to regen.

Frigates are also the only military M ships that can deploy drones: more fire power
