As long as the shipyard/wharf doesn't run out of materials, causing prices for those materials (and therefore the ships) to go up.
For example: At Argon Prime I spent 2 mil creds to buy two S trade ships in the first 6 hours of a new game, now (30 hours in) several materials are going up in price, those same ships now cost 4.3 million each.
Jeez, those are almost Terran Prices :P Add to that, depending on the attrition / simply desire for the AI to build new ships, wharfs can sometimes run so dry that building even 10 fighters is a struggle.
Honestly, supporting carriers is way easier if you have your own wharf. I currently run mine in Silent Witness with "Closed Loop" build method, so only E Cells, Hull Parts and Claytronics. Supported by a scrapping fascility in Windfall, which in turn is supported by a Solar Power Plant in Avarice, and I don't sell ships, the wharf is exclusively to support my war effort.
Baracudas aren't very good.
your welcome.
the only good thing is the capital ships shield. and also compared to the other faction they got practicly no ships at all
and yes my grammar sucks, english isnt my native language so sue me ^^
Eh, i think the Guppy is awesome (please please more light carriers Egosoft, especially with Position Defense feature they are awesome, and thanks to their good speed make for decent fast response forces). Shark is also pretty great. Their L miner may be the best in game (good balance of speed, capacity, hull and shield). And i think the Hydra (especially the fully kitted out Hydra Regal) is the best corvette in player hands.
Its a very generic carrier statwise, the unique boron guns force it to go Dumbfire for anti cap, and the boron anti fighter turrets are lackluster compared to flak, scatter or proppa Beamz.
150hrs into my Queens herald KE save and i own both guppy and Shark, id take the guppy above the shark at any given time.
The Guppy is a quite cheap, quite fast carrier, wich.... well....
performs better then the Ray-Destroyer.
Guppy with all slots Dumbfire and some torpers.... SO So much better then the wetnoodle the borons call Destroyer.
The shark has lit less turret options then the Guppy, is slow as f*** and serves the same purpose then the guppy... mobile repair station for fighters.
Sure Shark repairs more ships simultaneusly... wow... who needs that?
Both can command lit Hundreds of fighters...
Sure more fighters can land on your shark.... wow.... who needs that?
I want my fighters un-docked fighting.
Even travel mode of shark is barely worth Docking fighters to carry them.
Shark is just a mobile mass repair...
Maybe with an L turret, some more M´s for Dumbfire barrage...
But the way it is its a Bloated but weaker Guppy
Seriously buy 2 or 3 Guppys for the cash a shark costs...
They look better cuz more, they deal a sh** ton more DPS and i think 3 Guppys can dock even more fighters then the shark
guppy 16 s fighters max
shark 80 i believe not including the medium slots
What you gonna do with those Barracudas and Makos?
Carriers can't produce missiles. It only works on paper.
