Trade from my own station. An hour of trying and still cant get this.
How the hell do I sell my own wares?

I have looked all over for this and cant figure this out. Wanting a simple loop trade. Have my trader dock at my Mercury solar plant. Load up energy cells (FREE). Leave. Then sell those. Come back. Load up again. Leave. Sell. Repeat. How??

I can make a manual order to do this fine. Easy. But if I hit repeat order (which should do just that but is not how this is designed) then my manual order is cancelled. Okay, so set up a repeat order then. Problem here (at least what im seeing) is that i can only BUY from my station - not just transfer free. So the trade ship will land at my dock, BUY the energy cells, then sell at a station. I make no money.

If I set to autotrade, the ship will just go buy at another factory and do an arbitrage trade.

How the crud do I just make my guy pick up energy cells at my station free, then go sell them somewhere - anywhere really - and do this on repeat without having to recreate a trade when he's done?

For "repeat orders", all commands must be given after setting and confirming this behavior.

A better solution may be to assign your trade ship as a subordinate to the station. (Select the ship, right-click the station and then "trade for commander". Don't forget to assign a manager to the station.)

Yes it is considered as a 'buy' not as a gift. So go to logical view and select the finished cells. Set a sale price below what the other place is offering and (optionally) restrict the sale to your faction only (in the same drop down menu, little pencil icon). Your trader should go to you first because you're the cheapest.

This is how mine look.

If I want to sell to specific factions I put a trade rule in there

There are often a number of ways to accomplish tasks, some better than others. I found my trader wasn't trading in a sector despite there being a number of available goods so I used it as a manual miner until I had enough cash to buy them. But it's kind of refreshing to not be locked into doing things in one way only and having meaningful supply and demand. Too many games this is just a cosmetic overlay. With X4 you have only to find the most efficient way but can still get the job done in a pinch.

Why not? You are essentially just paying yourself here, just that the money will be in your stations profits. So lets assume station has 0 credits, your trader has 20 credits. Your trader buys 1 cell for those 20 credits, sells it elsewhere for 20 credits. So now your station has 20 credits and your trader has 20 credits, so you made 20 credits profit.
