30% scan is storage, I want to say 50% is logistics overview but I barely use that so you'd have to experiment.

You either have rep 20 and spend a lot of money (10M+ credits) buying a license to get privileged information on the faction's stations, or you go personally to the station in question and scan its modules (fly your ship really close to them).
Wow. Thanks. Follow up. How can I tell If an A.I. factory won't sell product? Reason why I am asking is because I am waiting at a turret component factory to pick up some components when the production cycle ends. Am watching the stock and witnessed scanning arrays bump from 0 to 10 on that factories buy order but no components pop up on the sell side. Supposed to be 170. Ive been feeding this factory its water and array needs just so I can buy these.

If you scan enough of the station (I don't know the %), you can open its logical overview and check the production info, including how much time until the current production cycle finishes. Then, be quick!, or pause the game to give orders.

Yes. I understand that. Was 75% for me. There is a 30 min turn around. The logical overview says its got 260 in storage. Is the A.I. known for storing a certain amount before it sells? Been feeding it resources for a couple hours

Probably some npc ship has already made a purchase and the station's stock is reserved for it.

They do; if you manage to buy the items immediately after the production cycle ends, the station will hold the inventory until your ship arrives. But it's tricky to do so with a ware in such high demand, that why I said to pause the game while you order your purchase.

If there are so few factories for this ware, consider building your own and making lotsss of profitsss...

How do you scan a station to 100%?

Most of the time it requires getting into your spacesuit as many of the defense modules / turrets are hardened and need the stronger scanner. Scanning to 100% doesn't actually provide any benefits though.

Sometimes the Stations dont sell the Items because the NPC has instantaneously sold it to another NPC, or it just didnt allow you to buy it. The best method to get to such items is by building your own station. Use an EMP Bomb to Scan the Station-Production Module and build it. Otherwise you can Hack the Containers and the Station might spill it out... Yarr

Ohhhh, I didn't realize that hard points had to be scanned separately. Good that it doesn't really matter. Thank you!
