Is there a Trick to Pirate Bases?

I'm trying to find the pirate base in Grand Exchange III. I've covered the entire sector (at least, the core of it--I realize sectors grow if you continue outward). No pirate base this game.

Is there something I should be looking for to help find these?

It's normally way out

It's often out by the remote gas field in the upper right in my games. But keep in mind sometimes it gets destroyed. I'm also not entirely sure whether it's a guaranteed spawn.

The HAT missions should lead you to a SCALE PLATE pirate base. If you have a black market trader, ask them how to find their faction representative.

The only other way I can think of is to get a couple Discoverer or Pegasus scouts, and have them start exploring systems.

Sometimes they get blown up then it takes time to get rebuilt. Sounds like thats what happened.

This, I think x4 teladi ministry of finance military might blow up station often but not always.
