as far as I know, best way is collect spacefly from xenon loots after battle, then once you had 25 spacefly, then craft it into spacefly caviar, I don't think anyone sell this other than player collect/craft then sell to Trader.
An alternative method is to smash up asteroids or just loiter around mining ships and wait for them to do it for you, sometimes there are eggs hidden in asteroids that you can collect. As Humble already said, there is no way to obtain spacefly eggs (which can be crafted into caviar at any workbench near a trader on any station) by simply buying them.

ah ok thanks mate. by any chance have you done the mission im doing now ?
xenon ships have them sometimes or you can shot the glowing spots on astroids(scan mode) to have a chance to get some.
Has anyone done tomb of patriarchs ?

I'm on the same quest. I tried to follow an NPC miner and let it do the dirty work for me (Argon Prime), but no miner was working in the fields. Others simply flew through gates and one ended up in Tharka's Cascade, into which I won't go with my puny starter ship. In the end I got myself an M miner, and got some eggs by popping asteroids. It's more tedious I guess but also one way to get the eggs to craft that caviar.

Spacefly caviar is notoriously hard to get. You need 25 spacefly eggs then you make it into that caviar. I've done it once. It took me ages. I hung around a flashpoint where the Xenon kept coming through a gate and attacking a base and kept getting themselves wasted by Argon ships. So i just waited and picked up the dropped spacefly eggs. It took a while- a few HOURS, but was the easiest way for me to do.

Why do Xenon have spacefly eggs?

Beats me.

In Saturn 2 are many miners. There i get my spacefly eggs and EMP-Bomb stuff.
But you need to be quick i think TER police destroy there containers regularly
For the salvage route, try loitering around the Xenon wrecks either at Second Contact II Flashpoint or Hatikvah's Choice. You should be able to collect enough spacefly eggs to fulfill the mission as well as some materials for future missions. I believe that the Xenon mining ships carry them occasionally.

In your next playthrough, I recommend saving all inventory items into your safety deposit box on the station and only sell the excess when you need the credits.

Thank you. I just set up a ship to repeat orders on idle, and then threw a series of 6 "collect drops" orders... and it worked quite well.
