The new physics are indeed great
I was always a bit disappointed at how ships would fly erratically, moving in odd directions that defied all logic, specially while using autopilot. I was pleasantly surprise to find out that the new physics actually fixed this weird behaviour, as far as I can see at least. 1+

You sure about that?

Of course, there has to be that one guy who has to chime in and post that edge case to "proof" nothing was improved. *sigh* :steamsad:

@Seleck Glad some people also detect the finer details and can appreciate them :)

I think there is an overall improvement in fleet formations.

This is probably one of those bugs when a collision gives you big momentum. Happens with satellites and ships.

However, sorry Egosoft, the Autopilot can still "Epically fail". xD

I think this is a sarcastic post.
Ships can fly in all weird directions, looks like boos/pathing is screwing them up.

The new physics seems to work better, but needs some more work.

Things I noticed after 6.0:

- roombaing stuff up doesnt work properly anymore (O-key)
- ships collide with each other and are stuck inside each other, until someone else rams into them. (had a big pile of ships in argon prime... Nothing broke, and it actually was kinda funny.)

It's never perfect. They always make out like it is, but then you still get the quirks like old times.
It's better, but not perfect.

Nah, I don't think that's collission, in that case they would struggle to stop, but this one just carefully blink-teleported, kinda. I suppose, that worked, it moved into a proximity of the K to shoot plasma... Idk why it did that tho, haven't seen that during 6.0 beta.

I like how now my ships stay nicely in formation !
looks so cool with big fleets

The weird Syn movement is similar to how autopilot does things that otherwise aren't possible on the ship you're flying. When the AI flies a ship, it can defy the laws of in-game physics, mainly when it uses travel-drive.

Am I the crazy one? This sort of thing use the be the norm before the physics patch, specially noticeable while using the autopilot as ship would engage travel drive at max speed going sideways and slowly turn to the correct direction, now I'm finding movement a lot more fluid

I still see some of my ships sometimes taking off to infinity and beyond with their thrusters facing in different directions. But overall I feel like they've ironed out a lot of the more devastating issues with the physics, especially relative to the entire series. SETA feels much safer even though I don't find myself using it much anymore.
