Finding Kha'ak Installation Version 6.00
Hello I am thinking of returning to X4 after quitted previously. I quitted due to frustration in having to spend hours to find Kha'ak installation.

Anyone could tell if the new update had made the task (finding KHK) any easier?

I would be grateful for any advice in this issue too. My method was using scout ships on each of the 6 corners and made them scouting the vicinity in growing radius from the center. I found it time consuming, boring, and sometimes fruitless.

Thank you in advance.

There is a "cheesy" way. First you need to have the system "explored" (fog of war removed). You still won't see the installation but you need it for the next step.
Click the "plot" thing and move the plot around as if you wanted to buy a plot for a station. It will show all stations (building or otherwise) including Khaak , which will show in red.

Also helpful when you purge a sector from Xenons and they play whack-a-mole with your fleet and pop a station in the middle of the sector for their little shi...p to build super fast and forever keep you busy.

Also make an alert for khaak station. When is spotted you'll get the alert.

NPC factions now give missions to destory them. and they pay very well.

other than that it can still be "hard" to find them.
But it's rather easy when you know how to do it.

Thank you for your reply. Any tips for me please?

Thank you for suggestions. They appear depends on our mining activities. I read some good KHK mechanic explanation at Egosoft forum.

My issue was finding the exact installation spot within the suspected sector. I found it annoying and time consuming.

They seem much easier to find after 6.0. Both of the ones I've come across were about 120 km from a jump gate and they were easily seen from the middle of the sector.

I have Advanced satellites covering one of my trouble sectors. And If I really want to find them I send a scout around the perimeter or the whole sector. That usually finds the nest... But..

I got to the point that its more annoying than anything to keep popping them. They just come back after about few hours play. (Usually they spawn in the busy mining areas) so now I have 4 destroyers and 4 squadrons of fighter patrolling the sector (asteroid belt) with the Script reaction force. They respond to any attack in sector on my ships (there are lots) and take out the kaa'aak fighters.

Have not really lost any ships with this work out.. And yes it seems like a lot, but with my stations in the area that security force pays for itself.. Before I would lose dozens of ships....

Oh and the mod would be a problem if you don't want mods. But the devs have put so many things in this game to make it annoying... Its fair play.

For those with the same problems, I use the "create new plot" tips from @Erei everytime now. It works flawlessly. Made finding KHK stations easier now. Thank you again to @Erei

This is a good reading from Egosoft forum about KHK mechanic. Not sure if Steam allow link though.

Did you get this from the Boron in Heretics End? I think it might just be for them (awesome addition, hoping its for all sectors).

Might be anecdotal but ships with police command have been able to spot khaak base multiple times in my save file. It may take awhile for them to find it tho

Thank you for suggestion. But you could only police your own sector.

In my play, I build stations within other factions' sectors to support them (read: sell materials to make money). So police command wouldn't work for me.

But thank you, it might work for others who have similar issues.
