Follow the asteroids like the Boron girl suggested. In the map, it's the red regions.
Then I suggest you check you missions panels.
In this game, red means "asteroids", blue means "gas" and purple is a mix of the two.
Edit: check the legend in the top-right corner of the map screen for more information.
Edit, got your etit too , thanks :)
Thanks, solved. It's been a long while since a critical mission was buried in there. Last few years we were treated to cutscenes or comms from Boso/new NPC.
Surprised Egosoft decided to go 'back' to this approach, was travelling all over Sanctuary of Darkness looking for clues or NPCs or triggers and basically getting fried a lot.
I'm sure they got complaints about that approach too. :P
