Hate the "drop nav beacon" quest.

You're just missing something, I was too. It's just the way Ego does missions, they leave something to the player to figure it out. Fly into a circle, activate long range scanner, send out a ping and then fly to the purple ring until you get to an anomaly then launch a nav probe. Do that to any 3 circles and it will progress.

guys probably one of the people mad at the new DLC quest, not the Tides one.

Just follow the instructions given:

- Stay close to the asteroids
- Look at the map for hints

They literally painted a red way to the jump gate. Drop your nav beacons there and proceed with your deep space expedition

The mission is simple when you know what to do, but it's very poorly explained whch is going to frustrate a lot of people since you absolutely need to do it to get acces to the DLC

I think its not easy if you are new or haven't played for a while. If you forget to do the scan part the quest guidance just keeps telling you to drop a nav beacon on each but when you enter a circle it switches to find the anomoly. There is no indicator or guidance to scan once you get in a circle.

Maybe. I'm doing tides right now and just had that issue that's why I thought that's what it was.

This is just a stupid mission and badly designed its enough to make any new player uninstall the game and demand a refund and with good reason this is really shoddy work Egosoft i am a veteran player and i am finding the mission chain to be frankly just a giant pain in the arse

You did it wrong / missing some. Have a look at the various videos / screenshots posted everywhere. The moment you place the beacons properly the mission proceeds.

It does work - a lot of people have completed it.

How you see that mission proceed?

I used autopilot (Gate to Gate) and dropped nav beacons before leaving the yellow circles on the map view.

Its a bit fiddly. Look if there are any large gaps between your nav beacons. Sometimes the game does not show that they are to far appart.
