Do argonians even have army?
So Ive been taking the game slow enjoying dog fights etc etc.
and well one K showed up and is raveging the entire system already destroying two stations in Hat. Choice...
I feel like AI has no military at all. As Im watching this ship destroy the system it didnt send any reinforcments or any respond fleet.
On the other hand HOB well those guys have large fleet moving around

So whats the deal? Is argon demilitarized or something as Ive really never seen any fleet maybe a single destroyer at most

happened to me with both Split and Teladi, playing on beta so idk if it's a bug or something i have to help with their economy. hope it gets clarified...

Lack of resources to build new ships.

As you build up your own economy and start supplying the npc factions with necessary materials, you'll see these problems go away.

Edit: another factor is that Xenon and Khaak both attack npc economies, destroying mining and trade ships, stations etc. So, it's possible for a npc faction enter a downward spiral and lose a lot of territory to the Xenon. This used to happen a lot with the ZYA split faction because their economy is so weak.

the time i started to do my own economy grow the xenon had 3 sectors ripped off. maybe i have to optimize my resource supply?

They all have armies / fleets. Which will engange in border conflicts (faction wars) and fight the Xenon. Eventually, they die - and the economy might not be able to replace them immediately. Everything in X4 takes time - the simulation is set up for the very long run. So after 40 hours a sector is lost? No big deal. Check back in 500+ hours. The factions rebuild in other places, slowly develop their economy and start building their fleets. The player somewhat can speed up the process by making profits or even sabotage the effort.

Sure, that'll help a lot. Another way is to study more closely a npc faction's economy and help by solving its inefficiencies, e.g. supplying raw materials and transporting wares from one factory to the next stage of production.

Xenon are Godlike. when i go making war 1 K/i can take out various ships.. though its random how strong they are.. but i remember a few eeks ago streaming Xenon war with unstoppable I (shields reloading while like 500 MK2 turrets fire on it and me aswell)

could be some invisible K/I which cannot get be doned by some bug.

also as other menioned economy is key, even with a few Supplies from my stations teladi did nowhere had enough to build army as fast as xenon could do it. (i proably had like 1-2 mega-stations with all materials supporting them.

also is random how hardcore/oftware xenon get. for my my 1st universe they had killed 1 fraction in about 6 days after start. my 2nd unverse (right now) they had only started getting berzerk when i had killed 1-2 of the 4 area´s xenon were. so be careful not to engage with em to early. i think when you engage as player they will get hardcore as well.

as far as i can always tell in my universe runs.. the only fraction aviable to defend are the Paranoid´s fractions. they never get overrrun at any time. aron are weak

this is how i interpret fraction/races in strengh against others:
---------------------------------------------------------------
split = weakest
argon = weak
teladi = 50/50% to be overrun or defending themself
terran/paranoid = strong against pretty much all even xenon

Did you do the Hatikvah plot? It's important to make HC more resistant to Xenon incursions because it places more Argon military assets there.

I spent the first 150 (tutorials combat/flightschool included) hours of my first file hacking stations for quick money to fund testing all the weapons/engines/mods in fighters and picking fights and exploding with almost anything I could salvage or pirate.

I still do that I thought I'd get sick of it and I haven't we're passing 500 hrs now easily gonna make it to 600+ not including my reload when I get the expansion eventually. Gonna wrap up a couple stories I havent seen then start anew!

My one weakness I need to overcome is i end up with a lot of Hodgepodge fleets and I forget what they're good at.

Well, do the Hatikvah plot then. Hatikvah's Choice isn't technically Argon space so the Argon have no incentive to send military assets there unless you do that particular plot.

I didn't know that. Thanks!

I think it can depend on you seed, how aggressive Xenon are, but i also think it makes commonwealth factions aggressive or not too. My 2nd or third playthrough Xenon were aggressive as all hell, but also argon were not at all and argon prime got wiped in about 10 hrs.
My current playthrough Argon seem to be majorly aggressive when it comes to the X appearing. Could be a mix of both, but also could be their economy just worked better this time.

That's the first thing I thought of as well.

One thing that saves Hatikav for me is the random Terran Fleet that comes through and usually wipes out the Xenon for me. I started helping but find it Not Very Profitable that I have lost 2 destroyers already and don't make any money defending the dam place. So I just blocked the sector from my fleets.

Guess I do the plot when I feel like it, I remember the plot from long ago, and it was annoying as hell.
