They're probably trying to rebuild it as soon as you destroy the last module.
You could try the following:
- If you set the turrets of a destroyer to "attack my target" and select the station the AI knows where to shoot the last pieces.
- Give your ship an attack order and see, what the AI is doing. It might take some time but eventually it will destroy the station.
- Leave the sector and see what happens. OOS might have a better result.
Once the station is gone that secret service NPC will tell you to get your reward which are a few secured containers in the sector.
As for the Spear of Odin I find it to be most helpful to just stay away and let it do its job. Depending on how developed your world is, it might not even get through. At least this was the case in one of my seeds.
