Also it's one of the best damn games I've ever played, with mods that make it even better. It is also a much more polished game and friction less experience and does many things even better than X4. It is in fact one of the most polished games I've seen that at the same time has this level of complexity.
If you love X4 and never heard about Starsector, do yourself a favor and play it immediately, you will love it too. I've played many, MANY more hours of that game over the years than I did of all X games combined and it's my undisputed favourite space sim experience of all time.
I know it does doesn't it? I bought it in a sale back when and I was really surprised at it's depth, and it did remind me of a X game. I bet you any money the dev is a X fan. The last update I believe he has brought in station building.
Anyway, I have named it mini X.
