Favorite song of the OST? Also, worth it without any DLC?

Got to watch a friend play the game earlier today, and we probably sat there for like 20 minutes just listening to that menu song before figuring out we could use shazam to figure its name out (it's the "Ode of the Black River" song) and buy it on our respective music app, which so far is my favorite song in the OST that i could find.
What's yours?

Furthermore, i am thinking about buying the game, but only have 20€ spendable cash, which would fit perfectly seeing as the basegame costs that much on sale right now. Now to ask, how "important" are the DLC to getting a full experience (not THE full experience because obviously "the full experience" would include DLCs by definition).

Additionally, how good is the modding scene? Obviously I'd play the first play-through vanilla, but after that' i'll probably try to mod it to hell any back xD

The base game is very much worth it since all game mechanics are implemented in it and its universe is very large, the downside being it's restricted to essentially only 3 species (with minor variations on the factions). The dlc's essentially add new factions with their ships and weapons, sectors and story missions, all of which you can access from an already existing save at a later date.

Nice. and yeah, i did infact end up buying the game, and will hopefully be able to buy the upgrade top the collectors edition (the one without the soundtracks but all functional DLC) middle of the month... the only nitpick i have so far is that there isn't a joystick axis curve setting where you can change the curves of the controlls, beyond a general deadzone. tho there's propably a third party program that generally does at least the curves...

I listen to the soundtracks on Spotify, and, yeah, the KE OST is great; the one for CoH is good too.

Very much worth it without DLC.

I don't know of a particular track but overall the Split Vendetta OST is my favorite.

Base game has all the mechanics, but personally, stuff i fell in love with are all in DLCs, since once base was up and running, DLCs could focus on content presentation (music, feel, look, etc)
