How does diplomacy and war work in this game?
I played the x3 and I'm following the x4, but the x3 doesn't have war or diplomacy in the game, now in the x4 is there a way to conquer the galaxy and make some kind of war or join some faction of the game?, or and just assembling ships and creating stations in a peaceful world?

There are mods that allow you to affect the political landscape of the gate network, or you can use a cheat mod to affect the same thing within your own narrative.

Right now in my game I have the Terrans and Segaris fighting in Antigone Memorial and the Void against the Argon and the Antigone Republic, along with everyone's favorite wildcard: the Xenon.

On the other side of the network, news has emerged of the Teladi Company uprising against the Ministry of Finance and their oppressive rules.

The world starts out with some factions at war with eachother.

There are main story plot points that change the state of this war or resolve those wars.

The player is a separate faction, you can war or ally whoever you want through your actions. The limiter is that once your relation with a faction becomes too low, they will always be at war with you with no way to resolve it reasonably.

There is no real way for diplomacy, which is arguably missing from the game.

That's not true. You can always repair any relationship with a faction by shooting criminal civilian traffic at any station owned by the faction you want to be friends with again.

I dont think this works for Viggor Syndicate though. They dont have criminal traffic.

I do see though in 6.0 you can get data leak missions to repair vig rep. Not sure how well this works. Ill have to check it out next as my rep with them is -30 and i have not let them rebuild their shipyards for many in game hours now.

Operative word there being reasonably. At -30 you are attacked on sight and any ship in the sector can decide to just come over and start shooting at you. Not impossible, but not necessarily reasonable.
