I loved it and hated it. I'm a big fan of those space suit segments but boy that one did really drive me nuts.

iirc I did it properly the first time, but every time I just look up the solution now lol

The last part is the worst. But it's doable. I really enjoyed that mission leading up to that part. I mean it was so brilliant and then the lock switch puzzle at the end tarnished an otherwise amazing mission. It ends on a strong note so all was forgiven, I just like many, was not expecting such a difficult puzzle at that stage lol.

On the positive, the reward for getting through that is one of the greatest rewards (in my opinion) you can get in this game. Plus you get like 2-3 achievements, so it's not a complete waste. After you do it once, you don't technically need to do it again either unless making a new game but hey, you'll know what to do next time, so won't be as rough either right?

I do agree though, I don't want to see anymore of those type of puzzles in the game either. As much as I love this game and that's quite a lot, I could do without that last bit of the mission. That one hurt a little lol

The internet is full of complaints about that puzzle part. That mission would be without that part much better. But anyways.... i´m done with it and really never wanna do it again. I´m okay with puzzles in games, but it needs the right game for it. X is not one of it.

How do i even get inside? the ai never talks to me when i approach the structure like i see it do in other peoples videos, ive been stuck in this hell so long the auto save feature has basically boned me. I got into one room that had 3 turrets and another door/switch but it still says mapping possible entries and the door to go in deeper wont open

:
TLDR

To change switch 3 without affecting anything else: [press2] then [press1]
To change switch 4 without affecting anything else: [6],[5],[5],[6],[3],[2],[1]
To change switch 5 without affecting anything else: [4],[3],[2],[1]
To change switch 6 without affecting anything else: [5],[6],[3],[2],[1]

(note: you may have to work around switches being blocked/inaccessible)

This post is for people who already mixed up their switches so cannot follow the online guides which assume you start at the default position

I agree with others who said it is useful to write the numbers 1...8 in a row with arrows for the interactions.

Get a pen and paper. you can write the state of the game in 8 digits, where 1 is green and 0 is red. The first digit is the color of the first swtich, the swcond digit is the color of the second switch, and so forth. Write the current state of your game, for example suppose only switch 1 is green. The game state can be written as

[examplestart] 10000000

This means switch1 is green and the others are all red.

You can very quickly predict several moves ahead with your pen and paper. You know that pressing 5 changes the color of 4 and 5, so if you did this the game would be:
[example start] 10000000 [press 5] 10011000
That isn't a solution; but it does give you a method to quickly try lots of options without spending all day in a space suit. Your aim is to get the game to state 11111111.

The switch interactions on my game were:

1 affects 2
2 affects 1 and 3
3 affects 4
4 affects 5
5 affects 4
6 affects 5
7 affects 8
8 affects 7

which you can write down with arrows as:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 | --> | --> | --> | --> | | | --> | | <-- | | | <-- | <-- | | <-- |

I hope that is useful to someone. Sorry if it isn't and for any errors in my post
