it emphasize on the crew a bit to much at the moment but when it does focus on what you want it to focus on it pretty nice.
I just need them to fix the lock on so that it doesn't switch to people walking around and I will be happy to use it for cinematic battle looks lol
I get ya, I'd like to see a zoomed out naval combat scene (side barrages) with intermittent dog fights, the crew itself... only if they're getting blown to pieces or ejected into space.
It is a shipyard dedicated for the construction of Raptors which hungers for Hullparts. This should help them construct Raptors easier & give them a fighting chance against the Xenon.
Also, a resource field has been added to Open Market to help them further should Family Zhin & Family Kritt fall.
-better performance across the board/no more stuttering around stations or docking
-encyclopedia has been fluffed up, still not 100% complete but most of the good bits have entries
-visuals look much better thanks to updates to engine with things like Parallax Occlusion, improved shadows, better lighting
-physics feel a LOT better. especially when flying S ships, you really feel the difference
-new live stream cam is AWESOME. if anyone enjoyed just watching space, this feature is heavenly.
-being able to remove deployables at the click of a button to 'self destruct' not only saves so much time if you were to have to collect them but also helps performance for those you lost all over systems but have no interest in getting.
-Carriers are finally worthwhile purchases largely thanks to Point Defense.
-viewing stations on the map is less daunting now with the new icons to designate what they are without even having to read their names.
-station building has been revamped and it's easier than ever to drop, rotate and connect modules
-dropping satelites and other deployables are even easier now that we can bind them to hotkeys
I am forgetting lots but those are the ones off the top of my head that stand out to me when I think of 6.0. Bottom line is yeah, I lOVE it.. Egosoft outdid themselves on this update I think.
I have 2 small fleets of 3x high Preset Pulsars with Flak Cannons and Terran Shields, they used to be able to kill Khaak off sector without major problems.
Since the Update they get completely shredded by the usual Khaak spawns.
There are a few bugs I've noticed like not being able to use the elevator console at Trader's corner once after I was there for a bit. But that might be in the main branch, too. But man the sector runs so much better and the game is fluid and smooth with no stutters. An absolute pleasure to play for sure.
I love the new menu options they added and the physics are so much better than before. I'm super impressed with this change and how much impact it has had this long after launch. I think the enemy AI looks a little more intelligent now but not sure if that is b/c of changes or something else but definitely noticed a difference when fighting other ships.
The new 3D widget in the station building is so awesome. I love this thing and it makes building stations so much simpler.
Also loading and saving times are so much better now. No issues at all with that. I don't know what they did but it loads so fast now compared to before.
Overall I give this update 10 / 10. Super impressed. It really changes the look and feel of the game even though you are playing the same game it feels very different.
And the best thing about it is Egosoft listened to our complaints, acknowledged that they were legit issues and went about finding ways to address them. And this is for a game that has been out for quite some time. This is why Egosoft can have my money for the next X game and every one thereafter. They support their products for a very long time and continually work to improve them. They are the type of studio I do not mind supporting.
1) Graphics in ULTRA version are now a different story (high resolution shadows on the cockpit are just honey). The jump is really huge. The graphics are much better optimized, I have about 15-20 fps more. Characters now have really detailed textures and look fantastic. It's great when someone plays as an RPG game.
2) Engine and Physics - Finally! When you hit a station or a meteorite you're not inside, you just go BOOM and bounce. You can feel the difference in the spaceshit engine right away in HOTAS (Joystick and Throttle) gameplay. Space combat is fantastic.
3) So far, apart from one glitch at the beginning of the game, I haven't had any bugs. The only downside is that in some systems I only get 30-40 fps on my 3070ti (laptop) though usually 70-110 fps, but the desktop 4080ti on the way... Another downside is still no Nvidia DLSS. I know that there is AMD FSR but in my other game I tested that the quality of graphics from Nvidia DLSS is rendered completely differently and looks better.
