Great AM4 cpu for this game ?
Hello guys,

So I`m having lots of fps issues with the game due to my processor being a bit weak.
I currently have a Ryzen 7 3700x cooled with liquid cooling and liquid metal as well.
But its insufficient, with +/-20 ships I start lagging on medium graphics. I use a Rtx 3070 as a graphic card.

I was looking for any suggestions on CPU compatible with AM4 sockets that would play this game better, no spending limits, but a best performance increase to price ratio would be nice. I don't want to upgrade if I get a marginal increase.

Also, Ive used Intel for years and I really don't know much about AMD gaming cpu.

Actual gaming benchmarks disagree with you.
For example, the 5800X3D consistently performs better at noticeably less power usage than the 5950X *in gaming*:

*In gaming* being the key word. The 5800X3D handily beats even most current-gen CPUs except the most powerful ones when it's about gaming. But it loses even to its brother the 5800X when it's about raw processing power. That's because the X3D has an added die of fast L3 cache, which comes at the expense of overall lower clock speeds and the inability to overclock (at least out-of-the-box) in any meaningful ways, since L3 cache has lower heat tolerances.

I’m… not sure this is a serious question or not.

Your setup sounds absolutely solid. If you’re having issues, I don’t think it’s hardware related.

You've probably got a virus hogging all your system's resources due to watching hentai.

then ryzen 7 5800x3d, is the best cpu out here , if you want better change everything for am5 sockets.
Don't waste money on intel crap.

If people are already cooling their CPUs with liquid metal, I wonder how long until using molten salt coolers becomes a necessity for consumer CPUs.

Hang on a bit. Word is that the new 6x version launching in the near future will improve fps a great deal.

Yeah that Intel crap is only faster at everything. Why would you want that?

No, it's not faster...without counting all the problems with windows with the latests cpu's and problems with most games because of it.

That's odd. . . I haven't had any problems at all with mine.

In the latest generation, Intel CPUs are slower and less effective than AMD ones.

If you use it for working other than playing games yes,but performance wise in games the 5800x3dx it's better and cheaper.

Ok i see what you mean, the 5800x3D has 96MB L3 cache, while the 5900 series has 64MB, but the 5800x3D has less L1+L2 caches...so all benchmarks i saw the 5900 series has so much more power, but in the YT-video i see the FPS is higherfor the 5800x3D; interessting :hfbrains:
