It's not even that hidden. It's in \Documents\Egosoft\X4

Woulda been nice if they had TOLD us that is where they are, rather than send us on a snipe hunt across hard drives.

Well, I didn't know where it was and it took me 3 mins to find it. There's only 3 places where games store save data:

1. Appdata
2. The game's installation folder
3. Documents

excuse me for being rude right now but...

if you do not know were your save files are stored i believe you should stay away from a Beta that can harm them.

on the other hand, asking the question were the saves actually are improves your understanding of your own System.

and to answer the question... in windows your saves are located inside your "documents/egosoft/x4/some_number/save"

~/Documents does exist on most Linux distributions, but saves are located in ~/.config/Egosoft/X4/<string of numbers>/save.
Also, maybe chill with the condescending tone? Betas are unstable and meant for experienced users. If you don't even care to search your filesystem a bit, maybe you aren't supposed to use them.
