Mods will flag your game with an obnoxiously displayed tag of shame and lock you out of official ventures should they ever return, but will generally fix everything Ego got wrong, including being able to buy paintjobs which is the only present benefit to being "online", and working offline ventures too.
This useless and disgusting tag now defiles my 500 hour save. I could roll back to the last good save, but would lose 48 hours of playtime.
Now I am locked out of tech-support and future multiplayer, despite never resorting to mods!
Without mods, there is no sane way to get paintjobs and exeptional modparts. For whole two years now! 5.1 gave back access to previously earned online inventory, but tough luck for anyone who started to play after Ventures went down.
Such simple features (coloring your ships via ship-building menu or produce your own modparts) to add to the game, yet they can't be bothered to release a small patch.
Build massive stations, armed with state of the art weaponry and flying fortresses with death star cannons, but coloring or tuning your ship: NOPE. Great logic.
Absolutely infuriating!
Reported this problem both here and on the official forums, but the devs confirmed, they can't or don't want to fix saves.
Apparently removing one tag in the .xml -and what's even more embarassing- in their own system, is not possible.
So to all vanilla players: Make sure you never let your game get modified. Egosoft won't bother with fixing your saves, that get damage from a system, that is entirely useless in the first place! And all that, despite them always demanding vanilla saves, if you want to be egligable for support.
This game is about building a space economy, supporting and influencing faction wars, doing storyline and side missions, and space combat both on the micro and macro level.
The game has been super stable with very few actual "bugs" showing up for the vast majority of players for years now. Sure some things could be improves like AI battle or fleet mechanics how they engage stations for instance but overall this game is brilliant. Again, the economy is the crown jewel of this game. You WILL notice a small handful of very vocal ragers on steam that jump into every thread and trash talk some pet issue that they have that almost no one else has - they make it seem like the game is bristling with issues. It isn't. Most of us are just happily playing.
All that said, the game is quite complex and the tutorials just scratch the surface - whenever you think you've encountered a bug just search for an answer here or on the Egosoft forums - it isn't a bug, it is a quirky bit of UI or gameplay mechanics and once you figure them out they start to make sense.
Enjoy!
Thank You for story! :)
Yes, yes. I know what the game is about.
This is what i coppied from Redit:
""""How is your german? The latest Interview I know of is this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsLExEdtZfo If you are brave you can try to auto translated subtitles.
Around Minute 6 they start talking about past ventures and that they want to continue with it.
Future is planned to be more mission based. You have missions you do in your universe but the results can be send to others/your team and that influence their universe as well. And there should be missions your NPCs do in other universes.
Still no mods allowed if you want to use that feature.
Around minute 13: They consider a hardcore mode with just one save and no reloading as foundation for the online mode which is also why they introduces rescue pods into the game.
Around minute 15: they mention unique rewards like skins for these online modes
Overall it's all a bit unspecific and sometimes it's just a yes we want to do that to the questions without giving more in depth details. Like they said the hardcore mode would be the foundation for the online mode but didn't exactly say that their future plans will require new game starts which I think this kinda implies.""""
Again, build it exactly like Minecraft.
However it will be years before we see any sort of X MP.
By The Way I have Elite, Star Citizen, No Mans Sky but Eve is not for me - I am to old and I have Work! I think X4 will take lots of time anyway! :)
