But will I "won" a war if destroy all that stations in all sectors? Does anyone ever destroyed a faction?
i killed te xenon actually... though it seems i cant really make tem instinct...they always seem to have some bluesprint active for they´re stations..seems the game was never meant to make a race insinct anyway..that seems awkward!
so it makes sense that they have unlimited money and they can buy ships in other factions wharfs and shipyards.
So for Argon (one of the hardest factions to entirely wipe): Take all their sectors, take all Antigone republic sectors, take all hatikvah sectors, take all neutral sectors, wipe all of their ships out. You may also need to take out: Teladi, segaris, rakers, godrealm, free families (they are not allied with argon, but are neutral. Not sure if factions can build in neutral territory).
If you want to play the game in a way where you eliminate factions, the dynamic wars mod is a must. You can break the alliances forcing each faction to be defeated once all their sectors and ships are gone.
The only factions that can be reliably wiped out are vigour, ZYA (after split civil war) and HOP. These faction lack allies who let them build in their lands (ZYA might be able to survive using FRF and VIG could use RIP, but both these factions are equally easy to destroy). TER can also be destroyed if you ensure PIO has no sectors.
Yeah, you pointed right: ANT are those bustards, who let ARG to build on theirs lands and so do HAT. However, HAT are not against destroying ARG stations and ships, so ANT are only problem in my case. What I do now is destroying ARG stations in ANT sectors (I have relatively low relationship drop so far: from 29 to 28 for 3 stations and bunch of ships - and ANT destroyers are hostile not too long, they become neutral over time), I hope it won't take too long. And I've also created additional fast fleets (named them "hounds 1" and "hounds 2" :D) to clean leftovers of ARG ships. To make this quest simplier, I keep couple ARG stations in my sectors and wait for their ships there.
Question: how do you know who is ally to who? Is there are some wiki page for this?
it lists all their allys and ennemies etc...
Either a clear win condition (all their stations and ships are dead? Game over for the Argon!) where they don't keep creeping back into the galaxy somehow - or a way to negotiate peace to end a conflict that way.
Right now if you hit the declare war button it's simply "we're enemies forever now!" and they will keep coming back forever until you take over the entire galaxy.
+1
While we're on the subject, could we maybe also have a conquest / occupation option rather than (or in addition to) total and utter annihilation? I would very much like to bring my munificent and benevolent rule to this part of the galaxy, but atm it seems I'm 'forced' to become some sort of insane genocidal maniac if I want to do so?
What I would suggest is that ordinary stations in an 'occupied' sector (i.e. one where they don't see allied warships for quite a while (because I've destroyed them all / keep them out) will in time mostly come to simply accept the change of local government. Life goes on, kinda thing.
Oh, yeah, if you want to throw in a taxation system for sector control on top of simply making some wares illegal, that would be cool too. :)
