I think I don't understand the super highway system
I was under the impression that once you go through a super highway jumpgate that it will automatically take you through a few different systems. Is that correct/incorrect?

I went through the super highway jumpgate in Grand Exchange I and it spit me out in Grand Exchange III then my ship automatically stopped (coasted to a stop).

I thought maybe I had interrupted the ship movement or something, so I tried a few times going back and forth and didn't touch any controls at all, it always spits me out in the next system and then I coast to a stop.

Did super highways change in X4 or something?

Keep the ship centered and on the highway.

no you might be drifting a bit.

When I go into the highway and remove steering mode I just travel with it forever till I get out.

Never thought about that. I'll try that myself.

That's what I first thought, but I've done it several times now. Entered the highway at about 250m/s with steering disabled, pointed perfectly (as I can tell) straight into the gate.

I end up in the next sector and then my auto-guidance is auto disabled and I coast to a stop, every single time.

Just watched some youtube videos that are 1 year old, and it shows a blue beam of light (like a space road) that indicates the super highway. I don't see that in my game, although I'm 100% sure the gate I'm going through is a super highway.

I have SPLIT DLC, did they change them in SPLIT?

That a normal highway but people call it the super highway because it takes you through multiple systems.

"super highway" don't have the beam of light and takes you to another system. they are a bit different.

The highway you are talking about is different. That one brings you to different sub sectors. Grand exchange is 1 sector and has 3 subs in it.

as an example of a real highway go to argon prime. You will see a huge blue road type thing

Those are super highway.

What you are looking for are normal highway

Ok cool, thanks all for the help.

Now I gotta find a wharf to complete the tutorial mission, need to bring a ship to a specific location, but didn't realize it needed to be a 2nd ship, not my main.

My whole reason for looking for the highway was to quickly find a wharf. :)

Depending on which start you choose, certain stations should already be on your map.

If you do young gun for example you already know where the wharf and shipyard is for argon.

Yeah, it's a long ways away though and I don't have location of the gates/highways yet. Was hoping to find something in grand exchange. I've been long-rage scanning a lot hoping to ping one.

argon prime actually has the highway system :steamhappy:

That's is not highway, that is small jumpgate, and there is large jump gate, highway is where you see blue line cross space, start to end wihin one sector, smaller, and endless around where is larger highway,

What you see those photo is smaller jump gate, not highway, it's different,
there many type of travel, even without jump drive, one large jump gate, and one small jump gate where you show photo, one smaller highway where you see blue line within one sector, and one is large highway (same as blue line) where share and linked to large jump gate.
Smaller jump gate and larger jump gate (not all look same, sometime there is oragon or yellow color, rather than lightly blue Not line, but around of gate) do not had blue line here to there, that is not highway, but jump gate.

Highways are long strips of blue, some are connected to gate, some are not.

Gates take you between systems.

Superhighways and accelerators are like gates in that they send you to another place, however they take you to another sector within the same system.

It looks like you are approaching this game in a way that will only lead to more frustration. Ide suggest flying around and getting a hang of things for a bit, if it looks weird or you dont understand it doesnt have to be a bug.
