Station Building and storage

At this time I am adding construction on my HQ, what I have found is station storage has materials that I need for this but you can't just transfer it to the build storage WHY it is the same facility after all I can move something from one room to another in my house so why not a station. as an example " I have 2,458 Advanced electronics in storage and need 88 for my build storage, I have Field coils 713 and need 165 yet can't just transfer these" WHY

Because building storage and station storage are two different things.

If you fly around your station you will see the build storage right next to it but isn't connected to it have a ship transfer the goods over.

If you have cargo drones and a manager and the build storage has the best price for the wares, the manager will (eventually) transfer them directly to build storage.

Otherwise, the manager will assume that you want to engage in arbitrage.

Yes, but it's so slow that I normally just assign a M ship to trade for build storage, and if the station does an automatic transfer it's just a bonus.

you can't transfer wares without a ship between station and build storage because the capacity of build storages is several millions (i think 20?-can't remember just check it ingame). So if that would work you would never have to build a storage module on your station....
also with that in mind....hostile build storages can make a very good raid target - just bring a freighter if you do so...
