Ship disappeared on me

So I’m still fresh out the gate, I managed to luckily board a pirate who attacked me, giving me a Minotaur raider and a peashooter. I have crew following me although they don’t defend me in combat.

When I was doing the anomaly missions where you have to “sacrifice” your ship, i ordered my Minotaur to dock at the station, not that far away. Shortly after it disappeared and I had so access to it under owner ships, although my ship asset value remained the same.

Do ships not show if they’re out of range or something, was it killed and still showing in assets, did it dock at the station and lose my ownership or was it a glitch?

Sometimes ships are put in a hanger: You dont see them on the map, but they still exists. Just go unter your property tab and order it to fly to a position. It will be shown on the map again. Also you can see it under "docked" in the station menu.

um, does it have an assigned captain? also, save and reload sometimes fixes weird problems that prop up.

edit: in the beginning of the play through lots of pirates and xenon like to pop up in grande exchange 1. so it not impossible.

I had an assigned captain to it, and no enemies were in the area. It was a Minotaur raider with some decent class 2 weapons and shields on it. I ordered it to land at the closest station, it wasn’t showing. I didn’t see it in property at all.

It sounds like this is a glitch, if it were attacked or destroyed would I be warned? Or notified? I was really close to the station so I have no clue what was going on to make a whole ship vanish

Take a look in your Log. Type destroyed into the search area. Afterwards confirm it with return. It should show you every notice, that a ship/station you own was destroyed.

Just had it happen to me today. When I teleport to it, it is invisible. No staff, no load out. I can fly it for a bit... Then it vanishes from map and the X4 universe. Very nasty bug... I THINK is happened when I was trying to move factory parts to fit better in my plot. My ship was assigned to trade for factory. Kaplooyee! Another bug is that ships can get stuck in modules under construction.

Have you reported the bug? Send in a save so that Egosoft can track it down and fix it.

I lost a ship under strange circumstances. Listed as destroyed but not listed by anyone (and not in a dangerous zone). I think the reason was that I had it docked in PHQ and I redesigned modules (including the docking station; think I also destoyed one). But not 100% sure.

Yep, ships docked or stored in a module that is disassembled are destroyed. You’ll even get the “Game Over” screen if you were in one of those ships at the time.
